‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk (Taymurtash) writes to Surur al-Saltanah complaining that Surur does not respond to his letters nor does she explain the reasons for her decision not to write to him. He also talks about meeting with Rukn al-Sultan and Fakham al-Saltanah for permission, that he was hoping for settling the date on the sixteenth, but they had decided to postpone it to the twenty sixth, and that he is not happy for this delay but he will stay patient. ‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk to Surur al-Saltanah
‘Abd al-Husayn Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk (Taymurtash) writes to Surur al-Saltanah about a misunderstanding between them. Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk also tells her about the death of the one-and-half year old son of his sister, ‘Ismat al-Muluk, who was being taken care of by Khanum in Mashhad. He was sad to think of ‘Ismat...

He mentions how much he misses her and complains that when he was in Tehran and insisted on seeing Surur al-Saltanah, she would put it off and now that he is away she says that she misses him, and he asks her whether she will agree to meet with him when he is back. He informs her that he will be coming back to Tehran the day after ʻAid-i...

These letters were most likely written during the time between their ‘Aqd (formal contract of marriage) and ‘Arusi (marriage celebration and consummation), while Surur al-Saltanah was living in Tehran and Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk was traveling between Tehran and Khurasan; the letters have also been separately included in this collection;...
